Heat Pump Association Members Elect First Installer Representative to Strengthen Industry Voice

The Heat Pump Association (HPA) is proud to announce the election of its first-ever Installer Representative, Damon Blakemore from Blakemore Renewables. This newly created role marks a significant step in continuing to ensure that the voices of heat pump installers are heard and reflected in the HPA’s work.

Elected by HPA Installer member organisations, Damon will serve a two-year term, working closely with the HPA team to gather insights from its installer membership which has increased by over 340% since the launch of its partnership with MCS. Damon will work to highlight key challenges and opportunities and help shape the future of the UK’s heat pump sector.

“I’m honoured to take on this role and represent the dedicated professionals who are driving the heat pump revolution on the ground,” said Damon, Installer Representative and Owner of Blakemore Renewables. “Installers are at the heart of the transition to low-carbon heating, and I’m looking forward to bringing their perspectives to the forefront of the HPA and industry discussions.”

Following the relaunch of its Installer Membership in 2024 and the recent launch of the HPA’s partnership with MCS to offer free HPA Installer membership to MCS Certified Heat Pump Businesses, the creation of this role is part of the HPA’s broader commitment to collaboration across the sector.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Damon as our first Installer Representative,” said Craig Dolan, Chair of the Heat Pump Association. “This initiative helps to ensure that heat pump installer voices are not only heard but actively shape our priorities and policy positions. It’s a vital step in building a stronger, more connected HPA and industry.”

The HPA extends its thanks to all who applied, voted, and supported this initiative. In the coming months, Installer members can expect new opportunities to engage, share feedback, and influence the direction of the Association’s work.
